tinytawnykitten
Umm, maybe 1-2 10Litre buckets? I dunno! lol! (how much do others fink?) Rocks might need a scrub thou, but will sort some out after the weekend (Byron's 1st Birthday this weekend - well Monday actually, but parties on Saturday) when do you need it all? Honey you're doing ME a favour, I'm hardly going to rush you!! 1-2 buckets sounds perfect! Let me know when I can come by, I am around ALL the time. Sad but true!!!! tinytawnykitten
If I bought these and then added small yellows and demasoni and peacocks when they are ready is this a bad idea. I think I am just impatient to get my cichlid tank going. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 775028.htm

peanut2110
Plus-a-fact I think this cichlid is quite an aggressive one whereas your peacocks and E. Yellows are much less so. I know the demasoni can be a bit tough but I'm sure Ryan has told me it is only with eachother and if there are enough numbers i.e. 12+ even that shouldn't be a problem. If you want to add some other cichlids, make sure you go with the more mild mannered ones and you shouldn't have a problem. Having said that, you will obviously still need to keep in mind the size of your tank - if you don't you'll be out shopping for a bigger one before you know it (I went from a 140ltr to a 200ltr to a 400ltr in just over 12 months!) Then again it helps if you stop buying every nice looking cichlid you see!!! Be patient - it will be worth the wait!
ryanjury
As above don't get that fish! Ice blues are agro as anything especially adult males.. They have been known to take over half a 6ft tank by themselves and they would destroy your other smaller fish if you added them later.. The best bet is to buy all your fish young (and cheap) and grow them out that way they all get along and it all works out.. It pays to be patient, I got my original demasonis straight from their mothers mouth and its been a year and a half waiting for them to grow to their full size and get the breeding sorted out, same with most the peacocks I have it can take 10 or so months for them to attain good colour etc patience is a virtue
tinytawnykitten
Cool, I will await your word Ryan, and the moment any of your wee ones are availa-bull (as your town would say it!! ) I will be there at a moment's notice! In the mean time I will be patient and work on making my tank inhabita-bull.
