imsweet
Just doing the monthly-ish syphon of the tanks and cleaned the filter of the smaller tank as-well... only small filter.... and i happen to look harder than normal and found about 10-20 of the tiny little fry. I found 4 WCMM in the pond with young shubunkins when i was doing a big cleanout. Decided to put them into the little tank inside with a carpet of oxygenating plant and some oxy-weed + floating java moss. I guess that and the occasional larvae / freze dried worms etc, made their day. These fry would be 2-3mm at the most. Lucky i have some egg yolk ready and bbs on the go. YAY :bounce:

matthewY
Ha, I remember when I first found my baby bunch... I had actually sucked them into a bucket without noticing, then when I was just about to lift bucket to tip the water down the drain I saw a little guy looking back up at me.... :->
imsweet
Yup, i feel bad cause i didnt check in the bucket... but then again, i wasnt expecting them to be there. Fingers crossed the parents leave them alone as i have no where to put them.
Ianab
If you have plenty of java moss in there many of the fry will survive. They are really that easy to breed  Ian
matthewY
found that the parents would spot them from a distance as food but when they get close enough they would turn. I have a feeling that the ones they do eat are by mistake and I've seen one parent eat and spit back out :->
imsweet
Thats good to know. They are too small to eat the BBS but they sure chase them. Just feeding egg yolk for now. And trying to keep the parents hapily fed too.

imsweet
I know the type you mean. I'm budgeting a bit so crush the flake myself into a powder. Plus if my daughter tries to help she somehow (accidentally of course) always tips the flake out :-?
