Hitchi2000
Hi all, Just wondering what a platinum guppy is? I used to have some guppies that seemed to have a white/pastel 'wash' on them. It was quite shiny and looked cool. Were they Platinums? Thanks, Take care, Ian :0)
purplecatfish
I'd like to add a related question if that's ok. What's the difference between platinum and snow?
cesarz
Platinum guppies are those that have a metallic overlay over most of their body. It can come in yellow, white or blue, the green platinums are basically a combination of blue and yellow platinum. These can be also overlaid with silver iridiphores that make them sparkle. The colours change depends on how much metallic silver sheen exists, like the yellow platinum turns to gold platinum when there are more silver sheen on it. Snow is actually a white platinum without much silver iridiphores.
