tHEcONCH
picked up two L239's and was bloody happy. Size about 9cm and by sheer luck i got a boy and a girl. These guys have been way up on my list of plec to have, Is anyone else getting some of these? I've got a couple, but I'm not entirely certain of the sexes - what should I look for? I suspect I've got a male (bristly) and maybe a subordinate male (not so bristly).
firenzenz
look for the males to generally have greater amount and length of bristles on cheek odontodes and on leading ray of pectoral fins. These guys seem a lot like what was called panogolus species of panague like L204. L104, L226, although males don't seem to have same degree of lower body bristles. Probably the reason there common name is a panague when they are desribed scientifically as a ancistrini sp. My supposed male also is wider in the head and the the supposed female while narrower in the head is wider in the abdomen. If you can grab some shots conch that would be good. tHEcONCH
I'll see what I can do - they seem to spend quite a bit of time hiding in the holes in the log :-?

Tropheus
Could you have a mixed tank of L239 and GBA's. Colour mix would look pretty cool. I guess breeding would be a problem
