chimera
Hi all, Well after hunting around for prices on different online web sites all around the world, I dont actually think that these guys are too badly priced. They are close (which generally means cheaper shipping) and have a reasonable range of product. I believe a few of you have purchased from them in the past - pies, steve? I emailed their sales support asking what typical shipping costs are (as this is generally what hoists product prices up when buying offshore) and also what specific shipping costs would be for a typical Calcium reactor and RODI unit (both largish-sized products) Here is their response: Hi James, Thanks for your email. New Zealand is a market that we do get a fair bit of custom from, but as every order is different both in size and weight, it is difficult to give people an indication of how much items will cost to ship except on an individual enquiry basis. That being said, if you wanted to combine orders with other hobbyists you know, we are more than happy to combine orders to save on shipping. We offer 10% discount for bulk orders over A$2000 already (but it is a shop practice, not a written rule as such), so if you were to combine your order with some friends you would all get 10% off fairly quickly. OK, your shipping costs for the two products (I have assumed a Korallin C-1501) would be A$90.00 Economy Air (2-4 weeks) or A$107.50 Air Mail (4-10 Business days) Hope this helps. Kind Regards, Natalie Newman Reef Online What I want to know is 1. have a browse of their site and tell me if there is any product you might be interested in? 2. do you think their product is reasonably priced versus buying here at the LFS or other online sites? If we could potentially get enough people to buy AUS$2,000+ of product then the 10% discount might ease the back pocket a little. Basically, Im just disgusted at prices the LFS here charge. Im not interested in supporting them just to provide them with big fat wads of cash in their back pockets, everyone here is a consumer and wants the best deal they can get - dont deny it! If NZL LFS want to tap into the market better, they should provide an online ecomm fish shop and fire some of their part time school-kid staff members (wow, what a rant ) Let me know what you think. Pies
Chimera - I am pretty busy at the moment, however I am in the market for 4x 400watt MHs and bulbs. Get me a price and tack that on to your order, should help get things fairly close to the 2k mark. Busypie

chimera
Im considering the Korallin C3001 Calcium Reactor & check valve from Reefonline (AUS$630 includes air freight, 3 - 10 days) They have a bubble counter builtin and dont need a pH controller due to their design. Does anyone else need anything new? If we can bundle it in with my buy, we will probably get a better buy price. If you are keen, let me know!
