supasi Posted February 18, 2008 Report Share Posted February 18, 2008 At a guess i would be thinking that it does not remove amonia directly itself, rather its likely that it works by seeding bacteria colonies therefore enabling the process of amonia reduction. Only use ammonia removal media in emergency situations where water changing is not an option, and only as a temporary measure.
