tHEcONCH
If you are trying to alter the chemistry of your water, it is best to put it into a mesh bag in your filter - it will make a real mess if you just dump it into your tank. Make sure you don't pack it too tightly or it will stop your filter pumping properly. You also need to be a bit careful and monitor the pH, because it can have varrying effects. Barrie
if you havnt bred Killis before, I would recomend that you start with mop spawners and the to peat spawners later. Normally with peat you soak something like Jiffy Pots in water from the tank and put it into something like a marg container with a 50 mm hole cut in the surface. Weigh the pot down so it wont float and leave it on the bottom of the tank for a couple of weeks (some types of killi will only need a few days to get enough eggs) then tip the peat into a net and squeeze the water out useing a very strong hand grip un till about the dryness of say tobacco. Put the peat into a ziplock plastic bag and LABEL !!! it with the name, gathered date and the suggested wetting date the bag the whole plastic bag again into another ziplock bag and store at about 24 (can store them on the top of the tanks)
