dimebag
if you know someone thats a builder or the like, and has a bunnings or oregon account (or anywhere else like that), get them to get it for you, they will get it quite a bit cheaper. BK
You know how long that piece of wood took to grow then it got cut down milled etc etc. Wood is cheap, see what steel would cost to make a stand and its not at all good for the planet like timber. If you e-mail me a full list I'll see what I can do for you. When do you need it. Dressed or sawn etc. Can supply Pine and Rimu
Snowman
I've got the same sort of dilemma and a mate in the know reckons Wiri Timber is the cheapest, have yet to check them out for 4x2 and ply but worth a crack.
David R
Go into carters and ask for a 'Mates Rates' card, it automatically gives you 15% off just about everything.

HaNs
Ring timber yards and places that deal in pre-priming and the such timber for the offshore market. They throw out so much good wood thats its scary Box of beer or two could go a long way!
