Dixon1990
I have got a Fluval 404 that i want to set up tonight, I have 2 baskets filled with bio-noods(ceramic tubes),and 2 empty baskets. The only other media i have is filter wool. Should i use this? I also read online that you can use gravel as a media,is this true?
Dixon1990
And does the intake of the filter need to be at the bottom of the tank?
Caryl
I would have one basket with filter wool and put ceramic noodles in the other 3. You can use gravel as a media but it does not work as well. The ceramic noodles have huge surface areas and promote more bacterial growth (or something equally geeky)
