Jalil30
It was suggested that I use my convicts as feeder fish. Of course there is another fry in their tank this morning. I have never been interested in breeding them so I never really took interest. how do I make sure they reach maturity? Should I remove them from the parents now? What should I feed them? Should this thread be in the breeding section? LOL maybe I will runa a double. But any input would be appreciated.
alanmin4304
They are very productive breeders but not good community fish so therefore hard to sell or even give away. That is why they are often used to feed to other fish when young. If you want to raise them you could siphon them out, put them in a bare tank and feed them brine shrimp nuplii and microworm. The parents will generally go again in no time.

David R
Convicts have a survival instinct like no other fish, so unless the fish you're feeding them to are in a completely bare tank then there's a good chance the young cons might find a hiding place and survive.
