When I got rid of my green brittlestar after I saw it nearly eat a fish, the other reason was cos I was feeding it so much it was causing pollution to the tank. In fact it was eating more than everything else in the tank combined. I was feeding it so much to try to keep it away from the fish but it never really got full & always kept trying to catch them regardless.

.... although it got the blame from me at 3 this morning for 'eating' our coral banded shrimp (Jacques) after I saw Jacques' lifeless (and meatless) corpse on the other side of the rock the brittle star was hiding under....

ummm, Jacques had shed his outer armour, he was fine..!!!! Upset me though! :oops:

The first time it happens, you don't realise it. Just looks like the shrimp has died, because the shell still has colour, and then, you see it alive and become HAPPY!
