New Plymouth Visit

The only pet stores that sell fish in new plymouth are critters and pet essentials, critters sometime has interesting fish.

For a slight more selection you can drive 10mins north to waitara and look at b-zone aquarium and computer supplies, but they're only open till lnch on sat and not on sunday.

As for locals, there's not much from the forums in New Plymouth (sadly).

You could try contact the head of the club and ask him.

Planning a trip to New Plymouth

Hey Graeme, let me know how you get on up there as we were thinking of going up in the new year. Nice place to visit, we always go for a dip in the mineral spa, very relaxing. (if you go straight until you hit the water, turn left, thru a couple of lights then it's sign posted) Cant say i've seen a pet shop up there tho. Wonder where the critters is??

Catch ya, Stac.

Hi all, Thanks for your advise on New Plymouth visit. Checked out Critters and Pet Essentials in New Plymouth and B-Zone in Waitara. Unfortunatly B-Zone had closed but looking through the window it appears to be worth another trip. :o . The New Plymouth shops were clean but no real interesting stuff  . Called in at Stratford on the way home and meet Tony, another fisko from way back. Awsome guy with a great set up, and plans to rival the Napier aquarium. Look forward to future visits. :bounce:

Hope you all have a great Christmas and remember, if your travelling, be safe and carry a chilly bin and heat pads, just in case.
