thats a big budget reef. actually now that i think about it my tank is only a 5x2x18 and cost me $3000 with all second hand equipment. add in the exchange-rate and high cost of gear in NZ its nearly the same.

buy the gear slowly, it wont hurt the hip-pocket as bad, i bought a piece of equipment a month, just waited for real good deals. (managed to get a 400W MH minus globe for $20 plus $50 for an electrician to check it out, was nothing wrong with it either). its good training in patience too.

Pies, I just called Pace. For $75 you'll get 2 kilos From Wellington to auckland. 20 kilos would cost $261. I'm on hold with courierpost now(Dunno why I'm typing that since I'm on dialup and calling them on that line) Ok, $61 for overnight.

I have had 7 boxes (20kg+ live coral and fish) sent to Wellington from Auckland this year with PACE, $75.00 per 20kg, next flight same day priority.

Just checking my invoice from ZeovitNZ, who sent me a box containg several corals, snails and some product, same day (sent at 10:30am in my possession by 1pm) $82.00. I assume this is because it was over 20kg.

Yeah, they must like you, I dunno. Unless they had a huge jump in their rates recently, which doesn't seem likely, I don't know what's going on. Maybe Zeovitnz has some kind of company rate.

BTW, you'll be glad to hear, I've taken care of that crab in my tank. He's now in his own little crab pot in the corner of my tank. Still need to make a few changes, though, I think.
