fievels007
Does anyone know why my chain loach seems to be fading? My other one seems the nromal dark pattern.
Southerrrngirrl
Does it appear distressed? Is it being harrassed by any of its tankmates? How long have you had it?
Caper
Plus if you had lights off for a time the colors would be faded as well. Caper
tHEcONCH
Does anyone know why my chain loach seems to be fading? My other one seems the nromal dark pattern. It wants to breed - watch for two of them spinning around each other like a little whirlwind - hilarious to watch

Guest
I know of someone that has a couple of yo yo loaches that change colour and spin around each other like what you just said does this mean they might breed?

Guest
How many eggs do they have and do they look after them or do they just let them fend for themselves.
tHEcONCH
I didn't bother saving them - they were in a community tank and I wasn't really interested in breeding them, so I let nature take its course - other fish ate the eggs. Dixon1990
Did you see fry or just eggs? What colour are the eggs and how small are they?
tHEcONCH
The eggs are about 1mm in diameter and yellowish, the fry are dark and not much bigger.

Guest
I have already done a google search it just says that it has not been reported yet that was why I was suprised when I heard that someone had breed them.
tHEcONCH
I haven't bred them - I got them to spawn. There is quite a difference. Often raising the fry is the hard part because they require specific kinds of foods etc.
fievels007
No he/she doesn't seem harrassed at all. It just likes to hang out reting on the gravel or on the log. Just the same as the other one. Have seen them chasing each other, but never any eggs, I read they haven't been reared other than in some big lab where they do something top secret to get them to breed!
