fishtv
Hi all my male cockatoo has a wound which doesn't appear to be healing. I think it was courtesy of my loach and is now at least a week old with little change. What do you think? should I leave him or treat him? if so what with? Caryl
I saw the heading and wondered why it wasn't in the off topic section  If the wound is clean and doesn't seem to be bothering the fish, I prefer to leave it to heal without meds. Make sure the water quality is excellent though and keep an eye out for bullying.

fishtv
Thanks, he is fairly bossy himself and doesn't seem bothered by anyone or the wound, so I will leave it and hope it heals on it's own. Thanks for your help guys!
Caryl
Look for red streaks appearing radiating out from the wound, or for it going white and fluffy. Both are signs of secondary infections.

Thanks for your help guys! My Apistogramma Agasezii often have marks like that. I'm guessing its because they call another cichlids bluff only to find out they actually WILL bite! My little guys bully much larger kribensis, so I can see them getting in trouble.
