Casper
Yup your right there mum and dad are Jewel's and so far doing a great job of protecting the wee ones, how many days would it be untill we get wrigglers? sorry just really clueless, have tired breading before, but of course once you stop trying they do it by them selves!! Dodgy Tank mates would be, the giant gourami, and the ghost knife im betting! oh and the rainbow sharks.. but mum and dad are keeping them all clear at the moment! Silver Sharks and clown loaches im hoping wont be a problem along with the alge eaters and phantom tetra's
cichlid7
mine keep eating their eggs
Casper
Jewels are known for eating any eggs that arn't fertilised so it may be a posibility that the eggs they are laying are not getting fertilised. We are lucky so far, noticed the eggs about 3hrs ago and the parents are very determined to protect their babies. We are just going to have to hope that they can keep this up and that when we have fry that we can get to them quick enough to seperate them from the other tank mates as I don't think they would last too long. cichlid7
90% are fertilised. They stay with them for between 24-30 hours and then the eggs disappear. i think they are eating them but they might not be :-?

jim r
they make fantastic parents and the fry will grow much quicker if you leave them to it.
