Adrienne
At what size would it be safe to return my adults to my tank with month old krib fry in it - there are 40+ of them, round about 1cm+. (Am hoping you're not going to tell me they have to be big enough not to fit in the adults mouths). Theres quite a bit of rock cover and I could add more if you think it would be advisable. Afrikan
I think it depends on the fish itself, I have successfully put an african female back in with her fry rather a few days after I stripped her, she needed a good rest from the male so thought I would try... she didn't touch a single fry... of course there were rocks, but even at feeding time they would come out and she wasn't interested in them, yet in other cases, of course depending on the nature of the fish and how greedy they are for nosh... they would of course snap anything small enough up. I think it is more the case, are you willing to risk and see? 8)
ryanjury
lol yeah as Afrikan said.. Id say its probable that the female will eat her babies once you have removed her she is likely to either forget or care if the fry are hers and see them as a meal.. How big are they? Id say if they are small enough to fit in her mouth she may have a go.. But like Afrikan said it depends on how keen you are to give it a go.. Adrienne
Will wait a bit longer then, when I need my 4ft back I'll have to move the parents back in with their babies and see.
