michael.qian
Was just doing my water change, usually I change 37L of my 135L. anyway I realised I forgot to add chlorine neutralizer to the new water after already putting about 15L of it in the tank. Would the fish be alright? I added the neutralizer to the remaining of the new water and will add it in the tank shortly.
evilknieval69
I havent used that chlorine remover crap in years and i use the hose to refill my big tanks, doing 50% water changes plus each time. Your fish will be fine, dont waste your money on chemicals that you dont need
michael.qian
really? I thought all tap water contained chlorine which must be removed before adding the water to the tank. How would I know if my tap water contains chlorine? I've been using chlorine remover everytime for a long time now.
Ianab
NZ tap water is generally pretty good and you usually dont need to use water treatement in it. It wont harm your fish if you do. The chemicals in it are relatively harmless, but unless you water actually contains significant free chlorine or chloramine then it wont do much. smidey
it'll be fine as long as you put some in the rest of the water. i pour it directly into the tank then ad water after but have forgotten a few times, put it in after & it has not been a prob. Our water is chlorinated so i must use it, other areas aren't treated.
IOU1
All you are doing by using the chemicals is wasting money that you could be spending on more fish
evilknieval69
Our water is chlorinated, but i still dont use it.... I do however have a water aging barrel that i use to do water changes on my Small Killie tanks. I dont have it to age the water as such, but so that the water is the same temp, and so that it is easier that lugging buckets round or having to bring the hose in everyday (the 5 killie tanks get 50%+ water changes daily) i just fill the barrel back up weekly. smidey
chlorine does disapate out of the water so a day or two still will have it gone or a day with an air pump. i use it cause i dont want to risk loosing my africans.

Adrienne
I use water straight from the hose, even in winter for all my tanks with no problems. No chemicals, just stick it in and turn it on!!
