wasp
What does ammonia test at? Any sick livestock might be releasing something? Is there enough aeration? Has it overheated?
Slightly Blue Dalmation
ok went in and talked to john, my nitrates were up but no ammonia so he thinks its quite possible that they were so happy that one of them tried to spawn hehe
Slightly Blue Dalmation
sweet waters all clear, and in doing so it entised snails to breed now my glass is covered in snail eggs
Fmxmatt
I'd be keen on some of those snails if they survive? John was going to try and get me some but I haven't heard anything back from him so I'd imagine his attempts have been unsuccessful

Volkster
Mayb it was the snails that caused the mirky water. Have you got Astraea's? They are know to! Have a read here: http://www.nanoreef.co.uk/index.php/spa ... urbo-snail & http://forum.marinedepot.com/Topic34265-13-1.aspx
Slightly Blue Dalmation
il see if any live first haha, there certainly a heap of eggs so fingers crossed. Yeah when i saw them doing their mating game i thought it may have been them but there were no eggs or anything prior and it was very very cloudy so not thinking it was them
tHEcONCH
If they are the rounded green shelled snails from John's shop they tend to just lay eggs in clusters rather than squirt them around - unlike tHEcONCH's which squirt after every water change - doesn't really cloud the water though - looks like little whisps of smoke that disapate fairly quickly. Slightly Blue Dalmation
yeah they were from john but definitely did a lot of squirting and a whole heap of eggs all over the show
