Ianab
Black Ghost Knifefish. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_ghost_knifefish Very interesting / cool Fish. They grow pretty big (30cm), they are peacefull, unless they can swallow it . They have larger mouths than they seem in pictures. Favourite food... small fish  Cheers Ian
herefishiefishie
I have heard that big ghosties can be to much for discus. I have kept smaller ghosties with discus no dramas. No dramas too with rams, bettas & loaches too. Although once loaches get to a nice size, I trade them back in for smaller ones. Loopy
bgk will betta buffet when he gets big enough to chow down. They have surprisingly big mouths and if it won't fit in they will make it fit.
cichlid7
i have a 11cm BGK living with baby tetras they swim around together fine he doesn't even try to eat them they lived with him since they were about 2 or 3 days old :bounce:
Ianab
He just hasn't realised they are food ... yet The BGK is naturally a nocturnal stealth hunter, their eyesight isn't good, but their other senses are very accute. Their normal feeding is to wander around at night just hoovering up small fish as they sleep. I would go with the "does it fit in his mouth?" rule of thumb when picking tankmates. markoshark
Yup, it WILL eat babies. However, try and get the BGK handfeeding, it will make things easier for both it and you BGKs are supposedly eye-eaters on larger fish, if they don't get enough protein, so yeah. candy
It depends on the fish i say. Some people have problems others dont. I have a bicher and a BKG with my discus and so far everything is ok. But my big fish are very lazy and hardly swim at night as they get fed during the day and have come to expect food at the same time every day. Tsarmina
i had a 20cm BGK that killed 2 20cm plecos. i have a 12cm BGK that is best friends with a 26cm pleco. it really depends on the fish.
