ducati
I have daphnia growing perfectly in animal troughs around the farm. I dont seem to be able to move them and have them flourish - anybody have any "secrets?"
jayci
I have been told that they don't like containers with clear sides. Also the water needs the be murky. I add grass clippings if I see the water strating to clear.
Dimsum
Mine live perfectly fine in 5L clear containers I have an empty tank outside full of old turtle tank water (insert green smilie) in a sunny sunny spot. Goes really green really fast. Add that to the daphnia when it goes clear, about every 2-3 weeks. I have a suppy of daphnia all year, less in the winter but my cultures seem to survive the cold and bloom in the summer.
