callum
My female baenschi spat today 38 fry today and when I took a closer look I noticed 2 Albonios swimming around :bounce: :bounce: I was wondering if anyone else have any? I havent seperated them yet into there own little net or breeder trap that they use for guppies, but i will tomorrow. They probably wont survive, as I have quite a few Albino Royal Blue Peacock babies and they seem to be much weeker than the normals but I'll give it a go and hopefully they should take off really well to some baby brine shrimp

callum
Mike, These are new Albino's from a female baenschi, only 2 out of 38 fry. Callum had posted comments before about his breeding pair of Royal Blues that throw around 1/3 Albino fry. Of that first lot we have 9 that are really doing well, around 2-3cm. The latest brood of Royal blues she didn't hold as much, with around 3 Albinos out of 12. Not sure Smidey, too early to tell, currently only white with red eyes.... We will try get some photo's and let you see them. Cheers Dave

peanuts
as far as i know it is all tied up with genetics, any fish has the potential to throw albinos if the genetic mix is right, with the potential to throw mixes of both hence why he is calling them albino baenschis as any that are thrown normal will be beanschi or royal blues whatever the parents my be.my albino zebs/afras (have yet to prove my suspicions as to what they are) have done exactly that with a drop of 30 odd producing 2 normal coloured ones. hope this helps
herefishiefishie
What you see in lfs as albinos are a mixtured bunch of Aulonocara. If a particular fish that you have is albino, then it is purely just the name of the fish in question, add albino to the title. So if they are royal blues, then abino royal blues it is. herefishiefishie
Albinos are just a recessive gene. There are albino eye biters here in Aussie nimbo. From what the guys have told me is they are a bit more touchy. I know of 1 guy on here that has a colony of albinos, a mate had a few, don't know if he still does. If you got some of the albino comps to adulthood & bred them, worth a penny or few. Frenchy
