smidey
Hi all, I purchased two giraffe cichlids on friday. I have noticed one has quite a few very small white spots about the size of a pin point. they almost looks like the small oxygen bubbles that float in the water. Can anyone shed any light on this matter as i have never had white spot on any fish before so i don't really know what it is. Dont think they are visable on the pic but i'll post it anyway. Afrikan
Where are the small spots situated smidey?

ryanjury
Sounds like it could be white spot no need to stress about it though africans get over it pretty quickly. I usually use a half dose of white spot cure by wonder and salt, or if I dont have any white spot cure just salt by itself to clear it up.. Afrikan
Yeah it could well be white spot... I just bump the temp and airation up if ever a case of whitespot... I prefer to try that before using treatments of any kind.

Afrikan
28-29 degrees, with extra airation will be fine, it has worked really well for me in the past and others. Definately for a decent period of time and just gauge whitespot.

I don't mind what your opinion is, i've never seen any others in real life so don't know if ive got good or rubbish.
Caryl
I thought giraffes were supposed to have longer necks? 8)
ryanjury
Giraffe looks good I cant say ive seen any giraffes I would really call rubbish ones, I guess they're not like the majority of other africans that get crossed etc I guess it would be obvious if they were to be crossed anyway..
