Milet
I have read http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/shipping-fish-by-mail-vt9188.html all about how to do it but i still dont think i'm gonna do a very good job as its my first time. Could anyone else give me a quick run-down on the best way to do it? The fish is about 13cm. And what places in Chch are willing to send my fish? Thanks
jim r
Small poly box from plastic box then ring NZ couriers on their 0800 number ( they deliver anywhere in the country overnight except rural) and remember to keep the weight to a minimum as the cost to the North Island is about $27 for every 5 kg or .025 cu metre. Within Island costs about $14 every 5kg or .025cu metre. If you can get it into a 'pp' bag about $20 anywhere in NZ no weight restrictions apply. Milet
where can i get the heat pads?
Caryl
A couple on this site have been advertising them. You can also try sports shops as skiers put little heat pads in their pockets when out in the snow.
megs
Hi Milet I also was given a poly bin from our local blood bank I just asked really really nicley. Might be worth a try. Katmandu have small heat pads down there. Cheers

So the " Lava-lamps " made it successfully to welly
jim r
They do take live fish, but they will not accept insurance claims.

Loopy
I work at NZ post. Does this mean i have to keep an eye out for "lava lamps" heading to Timaru? (i only sort Timarus mail)
Alan
I don't wonder that they will not accept insurance claims Jim when they can't even get a paid for, over nighter right, and a redirect to Rotorua instead of Whakatane. Really disappointed about that lot. Also a very expensive overnighter from the Westcoast, TWO days later. Yeah Right!! Luckily I got away with both of them. The first even had a track and trace on it and it wasn't even entered. Good service?? NOT
jim r
Dead right Alan, but it is a lottery sometimes, sometimes you get a good courier who knows their job and does it right, and sometimes you get it wrong.
Alan
 Where is the hair puling out by the rootsEmoticon?? I'm getting more fish sent up from Welliewood and I have a T&T on it.
