Tsarmina
i have +/- 75 BN fry swimming around my tank and dad under the driftwood with a new batch of eggs. the question is, is it ok to do a gravel vac? i don't want to lose any fry or upset the eggs. thanks
mr pleco
how old are the fry very young around a week old can get sucked up if you use too big a vacume hose you can but it pays to check the bucket before you biff it .. i would say most if not all will get out of the way as a rule mine that are 2 weeks old will but ones that just came out of the cave the other day tend to be a bit slow so i take from mid water till they are a bit stronger and wiser lol
Caryl
I would do it, but carefully. A trip through the siphon won't hurt them if one does get sucked up but I found mine weren't too siphonable as they sucked harder than the siphon  Put a net under the outlet of the siphon and catch them that way. carla
I have tried to suck them out on purpose more than once, but they are pretty good little suckers. As soon as they CAN suck they WILL suck. And you won't get many if any at all. So pretty safe really
