DiverJohn
Hi Guys, Just wondering if anybody out there knows if this is legal. What i am trying to accomplish is for a devise ( in this case a fan) to switch off when the devise on another cuircuit ( a clothes dryer) turns itself off (NB the live side will still be energised) A sparky has told me you cant switch the neutral, or wire the fan into the neutral side of a circuit, but is it legal to use the neutral to energise a relay? I hope the pic is accurate Cheers
WEKA
Unless it is a specially designed current relay it will not pass enough current to allow the dryer to run.
richms
What you describe will not work. Please just buy a ready made solution for this because if you think that it will work you have not got enough of an understanding to make anything safely to do it. new zealand discus man
Hi Are you trying to heat a fish room..? Cheers Phill
Caryl
It is illegal to do that and, as said, the dryer won't run. There is a much simpler way - and safer - but please consult an electrician.
