GZ_Loach Posted April 12, 2007 Report Share Posted April 12, 2007 I picked up another tank yesterday and dont know how im going to set it up, Should i put my Clown loachs,Golden zebra loachs,Zebra loachs and YoYo loachs in there. Or should i put the 5x Geophagus B's in there and some of my other cichlids??? tank is 120L x 50H x 40W, so far all that is in there is alot of black gravel. and will be putting in a 1200L/ph interanl filter and 500L/ph internal filter with 1x 150w heater at each end. dimebag Posted April 12, 2007 Report Share Posted April 12, 2007 why dont you want to have real plants? the loach tank would be cool, but wouldnt they all stay on the bottom, leaving the rest of the tank bare?just asking the question as ive never kept loaches before, but when ive seen them theyre always on the bottom? GZ_Loach Posted April 13, 2007 Author Report Share Posted April 13, 2007 real plants are too much of a hassle, and loaches usually swim around looking at things so aslong as theres a big bit of bogwood etc they'll swim in amongst it. atm im thinking of a big bodwood center peice, but i can seem to find anything big/cheap enough also thinking about putting my angels and 2 Green severums in the tank. dimebag Posted April 13, 2007 Report Share Posted April 13, 2007 too much hassle? jeez i never do anything to my plants, they dont grow that fast, but still look healthy all i ever do is cut off the lotus leaves occasionally. each to their own i guess. angels and severum will be cool, is that as well as the loaches? ho much u want to pay for wood? theres some nice pieces at one of the shops in tga, but youre looking at $20-30 otherwise theres always nice pieces of wood at the beach? Afrikan Posted April 14, 2007 Report Share Posted April 14, 2007 I use a rock called KatiKati Red for my non African tanks.... gorgeous colour, and once it is in the tank for a while, it starts to take on a real natural aged look.
