Helena
Hi, Any ideas good nor bad on these tanks on TradeMe for sale, seems like they are very good value compared to an Aqua One of similar size that I'm looking at my LFS. The guy seems to have all positive feedback on them. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 143440.htm
fishtv
We brought a 160l tank in November and was very impressed by the range of tanks he had avaliable to view and buy. He is an honest guy and tells it like it is. The cabniets are cheap and he will tell you that. They are strong enough for the tanks but not awesome quality. The tank is quiet and the filtration is good, and it looks good on top! IMO there is nothing wrong with the tanks and they are very good value. smidey
here's my sunsun tank http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/smidey ... 17927.html I think they are excellent. the hood is aluminium so is strong & durable, the filter is ok. I have added a canister as well & recommend doing that. the hood has rebates & cabinet already has holes for plumbing of a canister. I've had mine about a year & am very impressed. Helena
I have a friend that works at the Energy Safety Service and he told me that there is a concern wether these tanks have an Australian or NZ electrical safety approvals and EMC (electromagnetic) approvals. It is not until some one maybe gets electrocuted or a fire then there can be implications on insurance etc. Also you can not legally use the overseas plugs with an adaptor for our pin configuration. If the electrical item is sold legally in Australia then you can sell it in NZ as we use the same electrical standards.

I have a 3ft one of these and its been nothing but brilliant. NZ plugs on mine with no adapter needed.
Helena
Any electrical appliance can have an Aust or NZ plug, it is weather the plug, cord and lights actually have the electrical approvals. For your peace of mind (and insurance, ask the seller to show you the approval paper work) ask for a copy. Don't want to alarm you but it is against the law to sell without the approvals. If you are not sure ask and electrician about this.
Helena
Further on this subject BUY the JEBOs aquariums on TradeMe at your risk as these aquariums are imported by the seller as he says so himself and require the NZ adapter plug. The JEBOs for sale in pet shops are from the authorised agent and are approved for NZ. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 888622.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 993389.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 992322.htm
smidey
these imported jebos are more expensive than the sunsun items.
Lady-Lene
I too bought my Sun Sun off this guy. I agree he's pretty honest. Mine goes well but like Smidey I have added a canister filter. My only complaint is that the hood has developed a squeak when you lift it! Apart from that it goes well. I'm waiting for him to get some bigger ones in and I'm gonna buy another :bounce:
