  1. Sorry forget the size question, missed the post above. Thanks
  2. Hi Rozski, Good lookin tank what size and make is it please and what is the new price (I assume it was a new tank) Thanks.
  3. All ideas still welcome tho..........and thank you to all that reply
  4. I have been advised by John at Organism that it may be the bacteria is being killed due to the filter being cleaned in tap water and not the tank water. There is also a film on top of the water and may be protein from the food. All this due due to the filter not working properly due to the dead bacteria.
  5. CF1000 is set up from bottom tray up as...bio balls, blue sponge filter on top. Top tray is noodles and black sponge on top and no white fine wool at all. Thanks
  6. The CF1000 has 2 trays and the CF1200 has 3 trays. CF1000, Bottom tray has bio balls and blue sponge. top tray has the noodles and black sponge and fine filter wool.
  7. I have a 600mm x 450mm tank, 1/3 of water. When I was using a small Aqua One hang on filter with fine sponge, the water was nearly chrystal clear. (had to clean the sponge every 4 - 5 days as it got clogged up). Now I have changed to an Aqua One CF1000 and after a 25% water change every week, and in 5 days time the fine wool is quite dirty and now the water is always light brown (looks like pee, when viewed in a white container). There is no wood in the tank only stone. The size of the 2 turtles are approx.125mm in diam. Any idseas anyone????
  8. The 30" is not industry standard. You may have to get the tube from Kongs (the people whom distribute the Aqua One). They will not sell to you direct if you do not hold an account. Looking at the catalog now and they seem to not have 6500, only 10k tho I got my replacements from them as I have an account
  9. made in the same factory as aqua one canister filter
  10. If you are looking at the Jebo on TradeMe then choose carefully and also some other aquariums for sale. Any electrical appliance can have an Aust or NZ plug, it is weather the plug, cord, ballast and the lights actually have the electrical approvals plus ENC approval for Australia or New Zealand. (If it is approved for Australia then New Zealand recognises the same approval. For your peace of mind (and insurance, ask the seller to show you the approval paper work) ask for a copy. Don't want to alarm you but it is against the law to sell without the approvals. If you are not sure ask an electrician or electrical repair person about this. Check the question and answers at the bottom. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 888622.htm
  11. Further on this subject BUY the JEBOs aquariums on TradeMe at your risk as these aquariums are imported by the seller as he says so himself and require the NZ adapter plug. The JEBOs for sale in pet shops are from the authorised agent and are approved for NZ. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 888622.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 993389.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 992322.htm

  13. I have a friend that works at the Energy Safety Service and he told me that there is a concern wether these tanks have an Australian or NZ electrical safety approvals and EMC (electromagnetic) approvals. It is not until some one maybe gets electrocuted or a fire then there can be implications on insurance etc. Also you can not legally use the overseas plugs with an adaptor for our pin configuration. If the electrical item is sold legally in Australia then you can sell it in NZ as we use the same electrical standards.
  14. Are you after something special.
