michael.qian
Hi I have 5 small goldfish in a quite densely planted tank of decent size, also have 10 white cloud minnows. What other fish can I add that can tolerate coldwater temperatures? Right now it's at tropical temperature anyway since it's summer but in winter it's going to be a lot colder. Thanks a lot
Emily
How many gallons are we talking here or what are the tank measurements. The local chinese store call their 20 gallon tank a decent size and they have 9 goldfish and a pleco in there
Caryl
Yes we need tank measurements please. Also, what sort of goldfish?
michael.qian
don't know in galleons but it's a 150 litre tank with rimu lid and stand. 2 Black moors, 1 bubble eye, 1 comet and 1 fantail.
Caryl
You can fit a galleon in it? Must be huge  What are the measurements in cms? Are we talking long or tall litres? It makes a difference as stocking levels are based on surface area. I hope you keep an eye on them all at feeding time and make sure all get a share of the food as the comet will beat the rest to it easily and take more than its fair share. Wok
We will also need to know what type and size your filter is
michael.qian
tank measures 80cm wide, 40cm long and 60cm tall. Filter is a pretty simple one an Eheim 2010 it can filter up to 160 Litres as it said on the box.
Caryl
OK, don't add any more fish. You have too many all ready. Remember how big goldfish get and yes, they can outgrow a tank.
Wok
What Caryl said
michael.qian
I've had the goldfish for a few months now, about 4 month I think and they don't seem to have grown at all or very very little. I feed flake, both vegetable and general type and sometimes a tiny bit of meat, steak or pork whatever we have available, not every often though.
