Adrienne
Hi, I am wanting to transfer some plants from an old tank set up to a new tank set up and was wanting to soak them in the above first. What is a safe dosage amount and does it depend on the type of plant? While I'm pretty sure my old tank carries nothing I don't want to put these plants in with different young fish without being sure.
Luke*
Always a good idea to sterilise with PP. Mix up some PP with water until the solution is pink in colour (not purple), then add the plants for half an hour. Rinse afterwards and you're set. Doesn't matter what plant. alanmin4304
Sterilizing plants makes sterile, inert compost. Sanitizing plants kills the nasties. Treating your plants with pp will probably kill snails and a few other kreebies but I don't think you can kill everything without killing the plants. Luke*
Ah thought that might've been the wrong word to use my bad, but yeah I meant to kill the nasties
jn
Would it be a good idea to treat driftwood with PP also?I've got some soaking in a bin outside that's gone crazy with mozzie larvae and who knows what else.
Luke*
Yeah if you want, most people boil it. PP kills anything organic
