SilverBlade86
Well, I'm trying to eradicate all snails before I move the plants and rocks from the snail infested tank to the new one. Snail traps wont work, so that chemical one sounded good. Any other suggestions?

SilverBlade86
Any specific instructions? I dont wanna put the stones in the tank and see my fish dead the next day.
Alan
Salt water dip will bowl the snails, you can do your plants, dip into salt water then rinse, soak the rocks and gravel, or you could boil the stones and gravel too. Wash out the tank and leave outside in the sun for a couple of days. Only thing is you may have snail eggs in the plants, but a lot of those can be remove digitally. SilverBlade86
How long do I dip it in for? Also, the whole plant?
caserole
How long do I dip it in for? Also, the whole plant? It depend on the plant but seconds. A 5% bleach dip can also be used.
fievels007
Why are snails a problem? I'm new to this, bought some plants from Organism in chch, they had some smail reddish snails in them, now they tootle round my tank and I spot them every now and then, should I try to get them out before they get too many? What harm do they do?
bOi
Why are snails a problem? cuz they eat them pretty plants.. well, the least they do is make holes in them.. I had that problem once, but solved it with a siamese fighter.. he seems to have a sweet tooth on snails..
Afrikan
Fievels007 - Are they little Red Ramshorns snails? If so, they shouldn't touch your plants, I used to have some in a tank ages ago that came on some plant that I purchased at a club auction, and they never touched any of my plants, as in eating them. SilverBlade86
Hm weird, I only started noticing the snails in my other tank after I removed my fish from them. Do gupppies/WCMM/swords/fighters eat snails or their eggs? I left the plants in the old tank so that they would grow more, then I noticed the snails after a few weeks. Maybe I should toss one of my fish back in there with no food?
