penguinleo
Hi Devon, You could either get a couple of glasses of the creek water and let them live in their for a while. There seems to be plenty of small micro-organisms for the shrimps to feed on. But you got to keep in mind that the organisms will not live to long in a small container. If I were you, I would get a reasonably thick piece of lettuce and cruch it all up so that it is quite soft and floppy. Then sink it in the container and the shrimp will feed on that. But if you are going away for quite a long time, I would let them free.

evilknieval69
You could put them in a big sealed container which has holes in it and then sit them in the river until you get back 8)

Caryl
A few days won't hurt them.
Fishkeepa
sealed with holes :-? They can probably squeeze through small holes anyway. Maybe a mesh box?
Stella
muck, they just eat microscopic muck. put some rocks in from the creek and they will eat that. They take ages as they are so tiny. Shrimp are so cool!!! zooming about, little reflective eyes. Stella
alextret
My schrimps eat pleco chips. They eat rotting parts of plants too. They do not eat algae fast enough to keep sides of the tank clean.
