malawi_man
Just wondering if anyone has had this happen before. I have a pair of dolphins in my 800l tank and a few times now i have seen them go onto a rock and do the spawning thing, the female puts he mouth on the male's anal fin as usual but she doens't lay any eggs?! malawi_man
that's even worse! :-? so i'm guessing it's really a female?
Afrikan
Wonder if she isn't cable of laying Kribkrazy? Possibly she may not have developed in that area? Either that or shes a flirt and a hold out  Or maybe she is just a very PRETTY male
malawi_man
definately a male and female, I have vented them. If she wasn't capable of laying eggs then I would have though her egg layer would pop out and she would just not lay anything.
Afrikan
Hmm weird huh :-? I guess it would be really hard to determine physically... Has she only started showing interest in breeding? Or has she done it often?
ryanjury
Yeah I guess it was a female I had had the "pair" for ages and wondered why there was no action and a couple of weeks ago I got another bigger male thinking the smaller one wasn't upto it and now the smaller one which is obviously a female with blue and red on her is holding.. malawi_man
she's done it a few times now, she is about 10cm now so should be able to make eggs. lol ryan I think 2 of my borleyi females have a little bit of red and blue on them. 8)
herefishiefishie
I would say she isn't mature enough then. It is common, best described as practising I guess. lol @ Afrikan too. Frenchy
Afrikan
Yeah she probably wants to get the practice in to make perfect
