here is some information on what is in the country.

on the right side of the page you will see a tab plant survey list.

These are the plants that are in the country and explain which are banned.

i doubt if plants will be able to be imported as you will not be allowed to bring in new species. If you want a new species they will have to be approved by ERMA. I costs would to much and unable to be recovered.

You also have to be a licensed importer and only deal with licensed exporters from other countries. Imported plants must be completely sterilized before and after travel, all items must be instected and possibly quarantined, etc etc etc.

Best to just deal with some of the better plant shops around. I think pupuke are pretty good for plants...

Try some of these links....

http://www.biosecurity.govt.nz/commerci ... troduction

which starts off....

All plants and plant products are prohibited entry into New Zealand unless an Import Health Standard (IHS) has been issued. Import health standards include the phytosanitary measures that must be taken in the exporting country, during transit and during importation and quarantine before biosecurity clearance can be given.[/

also of some use may be:

Hope that helps
