mickey-tropical-fish-mad
i am thinking of keeping guppys to breed so if anyone knows or has any other information on the mit would be greatly apreshiated
quack
get just about any size tank, add water, add guppys to a ratio of about 5 female to 1 male also java moss is a good addition to for the babys to hide in and keep the water a bit cleaner. temp shoud be around 26-27 just a simple sponge filter will do. i found that if the female was a bit young and had babys she would die a few day later. so buy the biggist plumpest females. most of the time when buying the guppys if the females are mixed with the males then the females will all ready be pergnint. Caryl
They produce every 4 - 6 weeks and how big they get depends on the individual females and how many fry they are holding.
mickey-tropical-fish-mad
also would they be ok with the fish i already have or would it be worth getting another tank? (fish i have are in the list below)
shadowfax
most of your other fish will dine out on the fry!! id get another tank!
Tsarmina
if you provide a floating and ground cover most of the fry will survive. the only problem i have with my guppies at the moment is getting them to STOP breeding! i have 3 tanks full of guppies and i'm very quickly running out of room
