penguinleo
I was needing something to feed my future fry and I thought that microworms would be good but I have never tried them before. Exactly how small are they? And would they be able to be consumed by tiny fry such as ram fry? :-? Thanks in advance.
AMAZONIAN
Hi Penguinleo Microworms are a great "Fry Food" and are "Easy to Cultivate" so as you can have a continuous supply of live food for your fry. I use them to feed my fry and some smaller species "Adults" on a daily basis, which means I have to keep about five or six cultures going all the time. They are as I said a great fry food but I place them between "INFUSORIA" and NEWLY HATCHED "BRINE SHRIMP". They are not a substitute for either, but work with and alongside them both. Good Luck
fishboi
AMAZONIAN pretty much covered it. they're very very small and easily split in to several cultures over night. i stopped using them cuz they stink other wise they're good, my frys seem to enjoy BBS more though
alanmin4304
Amazonian has it covered. I feed a lot of them to fish and fry. They are cheap and easy but are not as good for food value as brine shrimp. Handy to have and feed out so that the fish or fry are used to it if you get a problem with the brine shrimp
penguinleo
It is a planted tank I need the mircoworms for. Sometimes when I use brine shrimp they all disperse all around the tank and the tiny fry can't reach them easily. The shrimps eventually get filtered out. :-? So will microworms be able to solve this problem? Will they sink? Or disperse a bit less? Cheers for that so far.
antwan
The sink, and disperse out just like bbs, but you can feed out more at a time because they replicate so damn quickly. These will be needed for when the ram fry are newborn as bbs is too big for them. What you could do if you have a problem with them going all over the tank is mix the worms or bbs with water and suck them into a syringe, then spray them right next to the fry so they don't have to search as far for them.
