Kermit
They've only been in the tank four just under three weeks and they're breeding already. So cool to watch, it's like they give each other hug's n kisses and out come some egg's, the only thing is that i gota say poor wee fela all that running around to pick up the eggs while she skives off. So my question is has anyone been able to successfully hatch and bring up the fry? if so what food do you use and does the parents eat the fry when they hatch? Whats the time expectancy to hatching? any other things that would be a help would be great? Thanks Robert
Alan
Infusoria, or in the aquarist world, green water for a couple of weeks. Followed by BBS. Have heaps of java moss in their tank, this will supply them with mico food, and remove dad about two days after babies are free swimming, no more than a week. Remove mum as soon as the spawning has ceased. Hatching in about 2 days, but they'll still rely on Dad to keep them up in the nest till they are free swimming properly in about a week. Keep the tank covered, warm, and the water about 75mm deep. Goodluck Alan
Kermit
Cheers for that Alan. As far as green water, just put a bottle of water in direct sun light? Whats BBS, I have some Cycopeas that the same thing? may have to get a holding net when they hatch. Also i have two blue turq discus three blue rams and two plec's in the tank any problems there? Thanks again.

BBS =Baby Brine Shrimp Cyclops, if that is what you mean are predatators and at the size the gourami are they could be in trouble, also they are too big for food straight after the green water. Holding nets are next to useless IMHO, they can be sucked thru and you can't feed directly to them either.. MTS coming up, breed and you need more tanks, it just goes with the territory. Alan 104 Think he means cyclops-ez. As alan said re feeding. After a couple of weeks the cyclops-ez will be fine. Also the JBL liquid food is great if you don't have green water., Micro worm to
