SilverBlade86
Is that good or bad? I would assume the tubifex would be more nutrious to them. I mean they eat the both foods, but they seem to enjoy eating flakes more (immediately coming out of hiding when they see flakes, eating like they havent been fed for weeks). suphew
My fish never used to like them. But I remember my father feeding them to fish years ago and they went nuts, maybe they aren't the same as the used to be.
Caryl
Just because something is more nutritious doesn't mean it is tasty When given the choice between a cream bun and broccoli I know which I would prefer
Alan
Are they the REEL THING or are they the irradiated ones?? If a fish has never seen a type of food before and it is use to flakes or woteva, then they'll stick with what they know and just have nibbles on the other and then maybe convert over to YOUR choice. Scuba Sam
Hi there, I just wondered how old the worms are - if they have been sitting around for a while, either in the LFS where you bought them from or at your place that may affect how much your fish like them. I was amazed to see that the new can of Tubifex worms was exactly the same packaging as the one I bought over ten years ago with my old tank. New ones were eaten quicker though... jim r
I have never had fish that prefer dried tubifex, it was a different story with live tubifex but I don't think you can get it now.
jude
The fish in one of my tanks love the dried stuff but they tend to be a bit wary of it at first. Once they've tried it they go into a feeding frenzy which attracts the others. The fish in another tank totally ignore the stuff!!!!
TimTam22
all my fish love dried tubifex especially my 20cm pleco, he comes to the top and trys to get them  suceeds most of the time if the turtles don't beat him to it
SilverBlade86
Hmm weird, maybe its cause I've been feeding flakes for the past year or so, and the tubifex for a month or so. So what I tend to do is give two feedings, tubifex then flakes in the evening. Hopefully they get used to it.
Alan
Another way would be to not feed them for four days or so, then try a LITTLE bit of the tubifex, it will pollute badly if you over feed I'm picking. Alan
sharn
my fish have never liked tubifex worms. try what alan suggested if you really want them to eat them- some fish will be very stubborn though and refuse to eat them for quite some time but they will eat them eventually if they are hungry- a healthy fish wont starve itself
