shadowfax
in my tank i have a redtailed shark thats been peaceful till now, he's chasing everything in the tank & only stopping to eat, i have 3 bn, 2 pictus, 1 pleco, 1 gae, 3 surinamensis ( they seem to be getting it the worst) 1 hoplo & a few danios. can anyone suggest a fish to add that will calm him down, getting rid of him is a last resort & im not to keen on adding more sharks. TimTam22
he needs a hiddy hole where he cant see the other fish swimming past, they are funny little fishies that like chasing and anoying other fish - I don't think another shark is the answer as the less dominate one with get all the attention (and that won't be good) hopefully someone will be able to help out more
Devon
My one used to chase things around in the community tank. But once I got him a hiddy hole he didnt mind anyone , only when they came near 'his cave'
shadowfax
theres heaps of plants & things so the other fish aren't always in his line of sight but he's actually swimming around looking for fish to hassle, its only started in the last couple of days, all the fish are hiding from him! TimTam22
has he got his own hiddy hole? maybe theres someone else in there? possibly put something in front of the entrance (not blocking him in  )so he feels more secure??? I'm a little stumped as mine were happy when they had there hiddy hole
Ira
I don't think there's much you can do. Redtailed sharks, once they mature a bit, get extremely aggressive and territorial.
Caryl
I agree with Ira, once they reach a certain age all hell breaks loose!
sharn
they do like to pick on smaller fish, and really seem to dislike reds/oranges/yellows in other fish as it reminds them of their own species (which they hate). they seem to like those artifical logs or bells for some reason so perhaps thats worth a shot? there isnt much you can do other than try to give him his own spot he can defend. they do great in tanks with large cichlids which they cant boss around though
shadowfax
he seems to be going after my surinamensis the most which are alot bigger than him & he thinks the whole tank is his, he's never picked a hiding spot, theres plenty to choose from, sounds silly but ive been giving the fish extra food to help my surinamensis grow & hes had abit of a growth spurt in the last week & a half, looks like nearly 1cm & now he thinks hes bullet proof.
