k0mit3t
Hi guys..not sure this is really the right forum as I don't consider myself a total beginner to the hobby, but oh well I have three clown loaches in my tank. Usually they're active the whole time..swimming up and down the glass and clicking away. On Tuesday I noticed that only two of them were going into a frenzy at feeding time (once daily just before lights-out)... the third (fattest of the trio and most dominant) was nowhere to be seen. I went and got a torch and had a look in one of the completely dark caves under my driftwood, and there he was, lying upside down (before you mention it I know it's common for these guys to rest in that position!), and looking like he was just chilling out. Next night he was in the same place, and every night since then. I'm just wondering if other people who have kept/keep Clown Loaches have ever experienced one of them suddenly deciding to turn into a bit of a loner and not come out for food. I'm mildly alarmed by it...but can't see any sign of Ich. All the other fish in the tank appear to be completely normal. So yeah.. any comments? PETEYPLECO
Yeah, I have 3 Clown Loaches, 2 at about 80 to 100mm and the largest dominant one at about 160mm plus is usualy more reserved and well behaved. It to tends to sleep more and chill in its cave more often. I would not be to concerned as mine is still very happy and healthy.
k0mit3t
Alrighty..cheers for the info. They're all around the same length, but the dominant one has a larger body shape. The other two play fight every now and then but this guy is the business. Will see how he goes..also tested the tank water this morning and there's no sign of Ammonia, Nitrites and very little Nitrates. pH is also around 7..so I don't think there's a problem with the water. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to reply, much appreciated!
