Zoban
My Neighbour that does stained glass uses emeroy cloth (a type of sandpaper) to smooth the edges on some of his glass pieces. Might be worth looking into..
alanmin4304
You can use sandpaper as suggested (USE A SANDING BLOCK TO SAVE THE FINGERS). I use an old emery stone---works a treat.
Alan
I use a round disc shaped emery stone called a spit stone for obvious reasons. Used for sharpening axes. Smoothing edges should be done with running water to alliviate the chance of glass splinters flying and also less wear on the stone. There is also a diamond dust disc used with an electric drill, but I've never used this system, but I do know of others that have. suphew
I have heard that you can rub the glass on smooth concrete, but dont know if this works.
alanmin4304
I have seen glaziers use those narrow belt sanders.

alanmin4304
If you are doing a lot you should wear a face mask as inhaling the dust is very bad for the health
Alan
That's why it should be done with water. Alan
