okki
Hi All, I have two Aquaone 380 tanks - one is second hand and quite old, while the others about 4 months new. I have only had the "old" one for about a month. The newer tank has the power compact fluro light, which is really good and I get great plant growth, and the other one has the old style 8w (I think) single fluro rod - pretty crap light, and it's showing on the plant growth (or lack thereof). I was wondering if anyone has converted from the old style to the new power compacts? What would be involved? A new ballast and a new socket I guess? As a temporary measure I've swapped the hoods over to give the plants a chance to get going - but I'd like a permanent solution. Perfect solution would be if someone had one with a powercompact hood where the tank has cracked or something.. but I won't hold my breath! Cheers, Oskar
sharronpaul
It is possible to just buy the hood assembly, or the light fitting in the hood. Make sure you're sitting down when they quote you the price though.
