farmchick
What are these guys usually like. Picked up a nice large one from Pupuke on the weekend (he is about 14cm). The problem is that he is 'hunting' the 2 plecos that are roughly the same size as him.  In 2 days he has managed to create a couple of tears in the sailfin of one pleco and the other one now has a ragged looking fin!!! There are heaps of hidey holes and caves but he just follows the plecos wherever they go. He is only residing in the tank temporarily until his new digs are up and running but there is nowhere else for him to go in the meantime. Will he settle down or is this what they do??? :-? obie trice
its possibly just the personality of the fish as some fish of one type can be agressive and some not. i have one thats about 20cm (including tail) and its in with a big eel about 22cm, mystus catfish 10cm, chocolate catfish (big fat guy about 12cm) a skunk loach about 7cm (these small guys can also be agressive he was in my small tank and managed to kill about 10 fish b4 i realised it was him), plus 4 discus only about a year old a big discus and 2 big angels and he dont touch no one! i had it since it was tiny say 2cm... Scuba Sam
I have a feather fin syno (synodontis eupterus right? and it is about six inches long, in with a golden severum, smaller pleco, and large silver dollar. He bothers the pleco a bit, but just cuddles up to the sev. I have read that they are hard on pleco's, but ok with other species. How is your guy getting on now? Devon
perhaps they are sorting out the 'peeking order' but just in case 're-tank' him.
farmchick
OK, he seems to have settled down The larger of the 2 plecos did the "come near me again and Im going to rip your fins off" dance with him and he has got the message 8) GO THE PLECOS!!!!!
