shadowfax
i have 5 gold fish in a little pond ( half wine barrell) & 4 of them are suddenly picking on the biggest fish & have torn a few scales off it, they are chasing it relentlessly, i have them for over a year & they have never done this before. ive just feed them but they wont eat they are to busy chasing the poor fish, any ideas or help would be great thanks, the fish are only about 5cms big. Wok
I believe that the big fish is a female and the other 4 are males and it is that time of year again. best thing to do is to take 3 of the chasing males out and leave a male and the female to get on with it. Hope that helps Wok
shadowfax
thanks, i always thought they need to be over 8 cm to breed?
Caryl
They start small. Have you got plenty of plant in there too? If she has nowhere to hide she may get killed. Easiest would be to remove the female and leave the others as you have no room for fry in the barrel.
