As per the breeding question

When spawning, the pair will jump out of the water to a leaf (or glass covering) and attach themselves somehow with their fins. While attached, the female lays eggs and the male fertilizes them. After the pair have cycled through this feat and are done spawning, the male remains at the surface and splashes the eggs to keep them moist. The eggs hatch in about 2 days (typical hatch time of the so-called splash tetras). When the fry hatch, they fall into the water to fend for themselves. No further parenting has been observed.
