hop2it
I would appreciate some info from anyone who has used one or had some experience with thermo filters. How easy are the heating elements to change should something go wrong..ie they stop heating. Any other info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
TM
I assume you are talking about the eheim filters. If so, when the heater blows up you need to replace the whole canister, less media and lid etc.
slappers
So would be cheaper to buy the filter without the heater

If so, when the heater blows up you need to replace the whole canister, less media and lid etc. which model do u have? both the EHEIM Professional II Thermofilters has their heating element at the bottom and is an easily replaceable part. i only ever had the 2126 but i would assume the 2128 is the same just bigger. i wouldn't bother with it unless ur have $$ to spend its over $450 for the smallest one when u can get the ultimate canister filter for almost $100 less: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 893421.htm
hop2it
Thank you, on doing some research have decided against one as like stated they are costly when I can get a good external for a lot cheaper. I gave my eheim ecco to hubby for his oscars tank as the internal filter was not keeping up..surprise surprise. My turn for a new one....... thank youfor your comments everyone.
