ghostface
anyone know a good way to catch a yellow eye cole? [apart from ripping the whole tank down] i have made a makeshift trap, but it is too suspicious to swim inside. it is giving my new copperband [which is actually eating, started the minute i put it in the tank :bounce: ] a real hard time. i would prefer not to use a spear gun, but if i have too i will...... not sure if the cole will leave it alone after a couple of days, or whether it will harass it to death. it seems to have calmed down a bit over the course of the night. KP
Know the feeling. This morning, big momma damsel was getting the other three damsels stirred up and ganging up on my clowns. Even with all the rocks out, it took me 1/2 an hour to catch her. At least it gave me an opportunity to aquascape
Fay
I have found every time I add a fish it gets picked on by most of my fish The process seems to calm down over a few days but unless the fish is strong it won't make it. I did the copperband thing and lost it because it was small and thin to start with. You could try over feeding the tang with nori on a clip to give it something else to pick on. Good luck let us know how you get on.
lduncan
not sure if the cole will leave it alone after a couple of days, or whether it will harass it to death. it seems to have calmed down a bit over the course of the night. Sometimes they will stop. When I first added my racoon butterfly, the sohal harassed it for a few days, but then pretty much ignored it after that. I think he realised that the racoon wasn't going anywhere, so he might as well give it up. Having said that, sometimes they don't. Again the sohal ended up harassing my blue tang to death, after living happily with it for over a year. If the copperband is not getting shredded to bits, i'd be tempted to leave it for a few days and see how it goes. Layton
puttputt
have you tried the mirror thing, worked for me several times, lately when the lamarck and the yellow tang decided to take the longnose butterfly apart. 2 days of flashing them selves in front of the mirror took all the fight out of them. tel
mirror always seems to work and some people find changing the aquascape helps, even moving a couple major rocks temporarily.
