Hi all.. .. I have seen a very handsome Giant Gourami by the name of BALDRICK that is at a petstore for sale.. He is available on his own or for an xtra $300 with his tank.. He has been there for a long time and always seems pleased when you go chat to him. I am wanting to purchase this guy but am wondering how the heck would you transport such a huge guy? some of you on here may know what store i am talking about.. but hands off. I WANT HIM. lol

have u seen the ones on trade me?? the fancy fish seem to go for rediculous prices eh?? i recall one fishy went for $230..00. for one fish.. now thats one expensive fishy. lol :lol:

update.. tested water.. its fine.. goldfish is hooning round.. so i didnt kill it off.. thank gawd.. lol

wow.. 3 Ghosties.. how choice!.. mine still looks like its dead in the tank during the day but he hoons round at nite.. cheeky rascal.. lol.. he is in with a gourami. 3 kuhli loaches, a marbled catfish, (which i thought must have Karked it eh? as i hadnt seen it for like 5 weeks.. lol..)but seen him last nite for the first time.. several shubunkins, a veiltail a blackmoor, 2 scissortails, a red tailed black shark , a zebra danio and another fishy i cant find.. lol.. i am definately getting a couple more ghosties. and a clown loach.. priced them in the hutt and one store was $20 odd and the other wanted $25.. guess i'll shop round.. lol

yes i have one of those tests. next time at kindy i will test water to see what its like.. Just that the other fish was Hooning round tank happily.. there are just the 2 fishys there..

Fishy is alot better today.. i put in some STRESS COAT and did part water change and HUGE inprovement..

anyone know anything about these dudes?? I did a yahoo search and the pic looks nothing lke what is on t/m.. :-? i am unsure as to what these actually are and if they are actually crocodile fish..the seller doesnt know but then claims on 2nd auct that they are.. :-? anyone????????? :-?

Fishy looks the same.. down tail.. down fins.. i changed part of the water and used stress coat.. it hasnt killed him .. the tank is about 35 litres.. i am thinking of perhaps bringing him home on monday and treating him ?? any thoughts?cheers

thanx that was very interesting. Matthew did tell us that Ghostie doesnt have any scales, abit like an eel type skin and the kuli loaches we have etc and yes he did also say that when you handle Ghostie you have to be careful and what you treat any illnesses with.. he did say he burnt his nose on the heater last year.. i am thinking of putting a heater cover over the heater,, though havent seen it go near it..but it mite be a safe idea..I did see Ghostie swimming last nite as i turned off everything except the loo lite and i could just spot him.. lol...

tank is in my boys bedroom and mostly at nite they have the tv going. else just the last few days the baby snake neck terrapins have had a lite going.. but the tanks are in different parts of the room.. perhaps the moonlite may work.. mind u i havent actually sat in the room and waited for ghostie to make an appearance, :oops:

yep thats what matthew the guy we bought ghostie from told us.. he comes out at nite.. just dont see him thats all..

aww thanx.. i really thought he'd Given up the Ghost! .. I am feeding blood worms.. anything else to give him?? dont even know when or if he's eating as the other fish are piggys. :oops:

i thought ole ghosty was dead .. so i moved him by touching him lighly and he woke up and swam... he was lying on his side... do they do this when asleep?? :-?

ok cheers.. was thinking all types of things.. as seen on animal house that up aucks way, there are food stores that sell live fish..for dinner..catfish,eels etc.. gee.. i'd wanna save them all..

good lawd! a 10ft tank!!!!!!i bet the floor was reinforced to accomodate that!!...... so sounds like even our largest tank wouldnt be big enough..

we have a very large 4ft tank by 2ft 7 wide by 1ft 8 high.. is this too small?? we have terrapins in it at the moment,, but can find alternative accomodation later on..

yep i think u r right there about the dragon fish.. i would prefer to buy from a petstore than private as u will have some come back.. pity we r at the other end of the country else we'd pop into the nearest store to get an arawona..

absolutely.. there is a neat guy at wetpets they have there in a tank.. i missed out on one at wanagnui petstore.. .. would be choice to have another huge fish ..

we are after one of these dudes.. where can we get one at a reasonable price...there was one awhile ago on t/m for $120 but i thought that was too much.. i asked of they still had it and they gave me phone number.. person said they wanted $180..thats too much.. 3.5 inches long he said.. i seen them cheaper in wetpets. but they dont have any... anyone know anything?? cheers

not sure of the tank dimmensions.. tank is at kindy in Levin... teachers feed fish.. they had a feeding bloack over the holidays...
