Try an '840' cool white bulb. I get mine from Cory's Electrical. Brings the colour out great.

Hi, not sure on the other fish but Discus will tolerate salt at a level of 1 tablespoon to 5 gallons and possibly more. I use salt with my discus in bare bottom tanks for some ailments at this dosage. Hope this helps.
